June 8-12          Chemistry Camp (Slime!)

All budding scientists will enjoy this week as we create one crazy concoction after another. Each day we will conduct experiments that focus on everyday chemistry. The messier the better in this camp.

June 15-19         Safari Camp

We will strap on our binoculars and safari hat each day for our journey through the lands of Africa. We will move like the animals and learn their way of communicating. We will discover new facts about a safari animal each day and learn to speak their name in Swahili. The classes will have fun playing animal games outside and create an animal representation of your child's choice.

June 22-26        Art Camp

This camp is specifically designed for budding artists. Each day the children will learn about a classic artist and the techniques he/she used to create glorious masterpieces. Throughout the week, children will have opportunities to express their ideas and emotions through music, movement and art.

June 29 – July 1       Water Camp ($120 3-Day Camp)

This camp is for those who are not afraid to have fun and get wet! Children will enjoy playing lots of water games, creating some water art, learning about different water animals and of course doing some water experiments. A change of clothes and towel might come in handy. THIS IS A 3-DAY SUMMER CAMP FOR MONDAY, JUNE 29 THROUGH WEDNESDAY, JULY 1. THERE WILL BE NO CAMP THURSDAY, JULY 2 AND FRIDAY, JULY 3.

July 6-10         Building Camp

Come join us to discover buildings around the world. We will talk about famous structures and landmarks, learn a little bit about where they are, how they were built, and have a try at building them out of various materials in and out of the classroom. We will talk about France and the Eiffel Tower, China and the Great Wall, Egypt and the Pyramids, and more.

July 13-17       Book Camp

This camp the children will have lots of fun researching different authors. They will have fun with fairy tales and study different techniques illustrators use. The children will write and illustrate their own stories this week. Let the adventures begin!

July 20-24       Farm-to-Table Camp

Bring your young chef’s enthusiasm for cooking back to the source of the ingredients. Campers will explore how to grow and cook farm fresh recipes that are in season. Nothing tastes better than a meal that is cooked with fresh ingredients. Children will use their green thumbs to help up-keep our vegetable garden.

July 27-31        Butterfly Camp

We are going on a bug hunt! This camp will be spent exploring and learning about different bugs in our environment. Children will hopefully be able to experience the metamorphosis of monarch butterflies from our very own certified wildlife garden. As a class, we will create a bug hotel for our garden to see what other bugs we can find and observe with magnifying glasses. We will play some buggy games, create butterfly art, and plant our very own caterpillar chia pet!

About STEAM Education:

In recent years, the United States has received significant criticism regarding the lack of scientific thinking skills and knowledge in our children. In spite of this criticism, many school districts continue to downplay the importance of science education in the early elementary years. Research tells us that STEAM education is critical for both boys and girls. Our summer camps are strategically designed to appeal to both boys and girls as they help children develop and strengthen their scientific thinking and build a strong foundation for future science learning. Our camp curriculum supports and enhances young children’s learning through quality activities that expose children to new concepts/ideas and encourage girls and boys to use their developing skills in a variety of creative ways.
